Co-Curricular Activities
Involvement in the co-curricular programme at Beaulieu College provides opportunity for achievement, enjoyment, the establishment of lifelong friendships and, above all, a well-rounded high school experience.
Beaulieu College encourages participation in the co-curricular programme - our pupils are required to take part in at least one activity per term.
A sports timetable is generated by the Head of Sports and pupils are required to attend all practices in the sport to which they have committed. All sports are played competitively at inter-house and inter-schools level.
Beaulieu College has both National and Provincial representatives in Equestrian, Squash, Netball, Rugby, Polo, Artistic Gymnastics, Dancing and Chess, Judo, Shooting, Sailing, Tae Kwon Do, Motocross as well as musicians who have obtained their Provincial Colours in the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra and Wind Band.
Music at Beaulieu College
Music has become an integral aspect of Beaulieu College. As such, we offer a wide range of musical activities to our pupils. We include everything from small to big ensembles, such as the school band and the school choir to specialist peripatetic staff that teach musical instruments on an individualised basis.
Throughout the year, the following activities are available:
· Band
· Choir
· Music Theory (external examinations for ABRSM, ALMSA, ROCKSCHOOL, TRINITY, UNISA)
· Subject Music (as a 7th and 8th subject – occurs after school)
· Specialist Instrumental Teachers (Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Classical
Voice, Drums, Keyboard, Piano, Pop-Rock Voice).
