Thank you to all the Alumni members who enjoyed the annual Alumni Gathering on 26 June 2010.  Much fun was had by all and we all are looking forward to next year's gathering.

Alumni members are advised that the Alumni gathering for  2011 will again take place during the winter vacation of all the universities.  Once the universities have confirmed their dates for next year, the date for the next Alumni gathering will be published.

We are in the process of starting up a formal alumni association so that you can keep in touch with Beaulieu College. We would appreciate any news and achievements since leaving Beaulieu College!

BRENT LURIE (CLASS OF 2008)
Steady, consistent play by the team's five varsity players led the Statesmen golf team to its best finish in six years as Penn competed at the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships.

The squad's five players were separated by just seven shots as Seb Stobart (So., Harare, Zimbabwe, St. Georges College) topped the team by carding a 229 (78-75-76) to tie for 16th out of 40 players. Geoff Dammann (Fr., Wyoming, Midland HS) was just one stroke behind Stobart in 18th place with a score of 230 (76-77-77), while Mattias Carlsson (Fr., Uddevalla, Sweden, Agnebergskolan HS) was one stroke behind Dammann in 19th with a score of 231 (75-81-75). Adriaan de Villiers (Fr., Akasia, South Africa, Akasia HS) tied for 21st at 233 (78-76-79) and Brent Lurie (Fr., Johannesburg, South Africa, Beaulieu College) was 25th overall at 236 (77-76-83).

CHRISTOPHER GARSIDE (CLASS OF 2001)
Christopher joined Beaulieu College following losing 4 months of schooling after being knocked down by a hit and run under age driver in August 1998……
He completed Matric along with the College’s first group of matrics, and went on to join Midrand Alarms where he worked for a short while.
Following this, he took a gap year after which he joined “Out of Africa” stone, where he came into contact with owners of ‘Cast Projects” – building company based in Fourways.
From there he came into contact with the owner of Vital Steel Projects cc, in Olifantsfontein, and joined them where he is presently being groomed to “take over” when the owner retires.
His current project is the Gautrain Station at Centurion.

TF LE ROY: (CLASS OF 2005)
TF matriculated at Beaulieu College in 2005 and went on to Stellenbosch University where she proceeded to study her LLG (VG).
We have just received a letter of congratulations from the Rector of the university confirming that she received her degree at the recent graduation ceremony.

STACEY-LEE FAIRHURST (CLASS OF 2008)
Stacey-Lee Fairhurst  received an invitation to join the Golden Key International Honour Society by the University of Pretoria.
According to the invitation, she is in the top 15% of academic achievers in her field of Study (Psychology) at the University of Pretoria. The Golden Key membership is by invitation only.
With this there is the opportunity to be recognised internationally, get connected with their corporate partners, apply for scholarships and awards, develop leadership skills, give back to society through community service, network with members at conferences, workshops and other events. These are life-time membership benefits that are offered.
She will be attending the ‘New Member Recognition Ceremony’ on the Tuesday 19 October 2010.
“Many thanks to the school, here is such good proof of what comes out of the teaching, ethics, support and everything that Beaulieu College offers and stands for.”

SIOBHAN TRENOR (CLASS OF 2008)
Siobhan Trenor was also invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society after receiving 4 firsts at the end of her first year of BSc at Rhodes university.
Testimony indeed to the calibre of pupil that Beaulieu College is sending out there.
